Supermarkets announce the arrival of Christmas with samples of candies, shortbreads and other Christmas sweets. The plants of Christmas decorate Spanish homes and diaries and calendars are organized with dates, food and dinners with friends and family members. It is the time to share joy with family returning adult, with friends who we do not see them for long and other meetings with our loved ones.
But perhaps the most outstanding day during the Christmas holidays, for its significance and celebration options offered is the 31st of December: New Years Eve. It is the time to collect all the experiences of the year, to take stock of our aims achieved and to remember the happiness of our experiences.
Though considered the 31st of December a working day, people exceptionally tend to finish work before, this therefore gives the chance to go out with colleagues or with friends either to have some beers, to have some tapas or even to do the last minute shopping. Although the New Year´s Eve has been traditionally celebrated with family, over time Spaniards opt to celebrate this evening surrounded by friends.
